P2511/P2506 on an iron ore train hit
a truck at a level crossing near Narngulu on Monday, 7th July, 2008.
P2511 was badly damaged and was transported back to United Rail in Bassendean
by truck. These photos show the damage sustained.

AB1534 hauling XA1405 and 3 historic
carriages to Bassendean rail museum. The XA and the carriages were stored
on the line into the Midland workshops that will be needed to take the
new B-sets into the workshops.

The following photos show the transfer of Y1101 and
two historic coaches from the old Midland Workshops to the museum at
Bassendean. All the locos and rollingstock are being evicted from the
workshops as they are being converted into apartments and offices.

On 31 October 2014, a re-enactment of the first Anzac
troop train was run from Midland to Fremantle. The train commemorated
the 100th anniversay of the departure of the first Anzac troops from
Fremantle for World War I. The train consisted of C1703 and three carriages
from Hotham Valley Railway. DAZ1901 hauled the C class and the train
other than between Midland and Fremantle. The DA ran ahead of the train
on the PTA line.
